Ängsbacka has always largely been built and carried by the many volunteers who have contributed over the years to all parts of our activities. The staff and community members who live and work at Ängsbacka year round, welcome you to come and participate in our community, life, work and development.

Being at Ängsbacka as a volunteer for a shorter or longer period is perceived by many as a welcome break in their every day life. An opportunity to do something new, meet new friends, discover new sides of oneself taking one more step toward a more conscious and fulfilling way to live and be.

At Ängsbacka we strive to live according to Ängsbacka’s core values which are based on acceptance, vulnerability, open and honest communication, commitment to personal development and learning, and respect for ourselves, each other and the surrounding world. Here you get an opportunity to be yourself in a loving and open environment that encourages you to reach deeper contact with your inner and the people around you. You get the opportunity, through your presence and your work, to contribute to Ängsbacka’s activity and growth and to support our guests and participants with the opportunity to find their way home to themselves at the courses and festivals Ängsbacka runs.


Tasks
The course center is the backbone of our business. Much of the work here is serving our guests, volunteers and course participants so that they feel welcomed and cared for throughout their stay here. This most often includes work in the house and kitchen such as cleaning, dishwashing and cooking. We are known for and very proud of our delicious vegetarian food and working together with our skilled chefs is a both fun and educational experience.

In addition to this we also have an expanding vegetable garden which always needs many strong hands, and various building and renovation projects. Within each area, you as a volunteer get supervision from one of our permanent staff. Please let us know in advance if you wish to work mostly in a particular area. We try to accommodate your request as far as possible in relation to the tasks that need to be given priority.
Ängsbacka is developing and expanding. To achieve all this we need you volunteers. Your presence, your commitment, your energy and your love for the place. Come and join us!

We ask you to be aware that we need to know in advance that you want to join us it is not functional for us if you show up unannounced.


Festivals
As a volunteer at our festivals you partake in creating the festival, both in a practical sense and building the unique festival atmosphere. You work, meet new friends, share and have plenty of time to participate in the festival’s various workshops and activities. As a volunteer you are at Ängsbacka before and after the actual festivals take place. This is called the camp period. During the camp periods a juicy volunteer program is offered, with workshops, mediations, dance and surprises.
